A treasure in earthen vessel

Treasure in earthen vessel

yes,earthen and flawed

a work in progress

relying on Christ

A great tressure

The treasure of salvation

A vessel that’s corruptible

but honored to house a great God

I’m a child of God

One spirit with Christ Jesus

A joint heir with Christ,of God’s blessings

My body is the temple of the Holy Ghost

I guard the treasure in me with fear and trembling

for  I don’t take my salvation lightly

’cause it is a great honor being God’s very own

Christ’s possession

A new creation

purchased by the precious blood of Jesus

that is more precious than silver or gold.

the righteousness of God in Christ  born-again-woman

the salt of the earth

for I give out the flavor of Jesus Christ

the light of the world

             Guarding jealously

I guard Christ’s gem in me jealously

to be pulled down and led astray

laying down every weight

and any sin that might want to divert me from Christ

I love God the father

Jesus my Lord

The Holy spirit my Teacher

The Spirit of truth

I die daily to my selfish ambitions

for I want to know Christ

and the power of the Holy Ghost

that raised Christ from the dead

In Christ, I live

move and have my being

It is no longer I that lives

but Christ that Lives in me

For I am one spirit with Christ

Part: of His body

of His bones and flesh

of the bride of Christ

He washes me with the water of His Word

Purifying me for a pure bride

without spot or wrinkle

I want to be a vessel of honor

so I will be fit for the Master’s use

bringing in hope and deliverance to the nations

and doing His work from a position of relationship

by abiding in His Word

and clinging to Jesus the vine

So I will bear much fruit

And bring glory to God The Father

About Mavis Chuma

I love Jesus. I love life. I love people. My life is hid in Christ in God. I belong to God & am seated in heavenly places with Jesus Christ. As Jesus is in heaven so am I in the world. So I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. I am a winner.

  1. I was thinking lately about how much of an earthen vessel we are, but how precious nonetheless. Never mind if someone is old and their body is broken, the earthly body that hosts a heavenly treasure is precious all the same. God doesn’t take it lightly. So your first poem really resonated with me.

  2. WHEW !! Preach it in a poem sister !! This absolutely inspired me, and I enjoyed the format – easy to read poetry lines, very much. God bless you sister.
