Scriptural confessions for children

Scriptural Confessions

Scriptural confessions are crucial for children. For the Word starts them off right. By confession, in this context, I mean saying out loud.

  • God  loves me Matthew 19:14; Romans 5:8
  • If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved. Romans 10:9
  • Jesus is my Savior John 3: 17
  • my salvation Acts 4:12
  • Jesus is the mediator between God and men. 1Timothy 2:5
  • the way to the Father, the truth and the life John 14:6
  • He died for me John 3:16
  • rose on the third day 1 Corinthians 15:4
  • went to heaven Acts 1:9-11

It’s our duty as parents, grandparents, those in children’s ministry and anybody that comes into conduct with children

To teach, disciple and train them in the ways of the Lord  parenting-children-heritage-lord

That way, the Word  molds  a people, a nation and great leaders for the Lord

The world is constantly bombarding them with negative information and issues

That behooves us to know the Lord experimentally.  So that we are able to combat the negatives in a godly way

When starting off with the confessions, you might not give them the Verses. But as they grow older they will be able to recite the verse. The confessions at first need not be in the above order necessarily. Because what’s important at first is to know the facts.

One  African proverb says, “a child is what you put into Him”

“Work the clay while it is still wet,” – Tanzanian proverb

Most importantly, children are important to God for Jesus said, “Whoever welcomes one such a child in my name, welcomes  me”Matthew 18:5

And in Matthew 18:10,” See to it that you do not despise one of these little ones, for  I tell you that their angels see the face of the Father” This shows  God is big on how we treat children. We cannot just ignore them and assume all will be well.
