To sacrifice, is to do something on behalf of another, whilst forgoing one’s comfort. Is doing something for somebody even for yourself, but relinquishing something important in anticipation of something good to come out of it.
We have somebody, who relinquished his personal privileges, for our sakes. Although, he was the son of God ,he did not consider being equal with God, to be anything to be grasped, but humbled himself till the death of the cross. Philippians 2:5-8. Jesus left the riches of heaven, became one of us in order to die for us, to bring us back to the father.
John 3:16 says, For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only son, that WHOSOEVER believes in him, should not perish but have everlasting life. The gospel of the kingdom of God, is free for all. You don’t have to clean yourself up, before you come to God. Come as you are, he is the one that will clean you up. The life of the body is in the blood. He lost his blood, to save us. When we accept the work that he did for us on the cross, plus the suffering he endured on our behalf, we receive salvation. His blood, his life cleanses us from ALL unrighteousness.
In the Old Testament, they would offer a ram that was spotless, no deformities or impurities .Jesus sealed the new testament/covenant with his own blood. He entered the heavenly tabernacle, with his own blood. The bible says the blood of Abel spoke from the ground. It spoke of vengeance, the blood of bulls and goats spoke of covering of sin. That of Jesus speaks forgiveness of sin, cleansing, redemption, opening a way for us, to come to the throne of grace, with boldness in times of need.
Since Adam sinned, we all have sinned and fell short of the glory of God. When we receive Jesus, and believe in his blood, we are restored to a place of glory, and fellowship with God. Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice.
Dearly beloveds, we are dearly loved by God, with a passionate love!
